Memories

I wrote this tutorial on 24th August 2006 and any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental. Please feel free to print it out for your own personal use but please do not claim it as your own. All materials and tubes used are copyright to their respective owners and will be credited accordingly. If there is something I have used and it is yours, please let me know so I can give you the credit you deserve.

This tutorial asumes you have a good working knowledge of psp and Animation Shop.
Supplies Needed:
Paint Shop Pro (I used 9 but can be done in any version)
Tube of Choice (I used the Gorgeous artwork of ©Marlene Freimans)
Font of Choice (I Used 814yzx)
Scrap Kit by Melissa Heartfelt Scraps HS_ScrapKit_023:Zip Here
Supplies Here:Zip Here
(Contains Heart Animation and Mask from the very talented MzKel With Wild Abandon )

(You can drag this arrow as you go so you know where you are in the tutorial)
DOM Drag & Drop script from Dynamic Drive

Unzip the Scrap set and open it in paint shop pro. Unzip the Supplies and open the Mask up in psp also. Open up a Blank Canvas, 500 x 500 and flood fill with White.

Go to the Scrap set and copy and paste the Memories Paper as a new layer onto your blank canvas. The paper is right at the back of the Scrap Set, incase you can't see it lol.
Stay on the paper layer and apply the Mask, Layers --> New Mask Layer --> From Image and choose the mask in the drop down bit. Then add a drop Shadow.
It should look like this:

Now choose the tube or graphic you want to use. I chose a graphic and I applied a mask to the edges first then copied and pasted it onto the Memories Paper.
Like this

Now go back to the scrap set and copy and paste the film strip. If you can't see it, go over to the layer palette and find the layer called 'film strip', highlight that layer then go to the scrap set and Edit --> Copy. Paste the Film strip onto your canvas and resize to fit.
Use the deform tool to move it around and position it where you want it. Then select your magic wand, tolerance 10, Add (shift), and select the insides of the film strip, both boxes. Selections --> Modify --> Expand by 1. Now copy and paste your tube/graphic again, as new layer and position it under the selections. Bearing in mind the parts in the selections are the parts we'll be keeping so move it around. When you're happy, selections --> invert and hit delete. You should be left with the bits inside the film strip boxes only. Lower the opacity on that layer to about 50.

Here is what you should have now:

Now you want to add the embellishments to your tag as you'd like them. Add the 'Beautiful' and 'Memories' square buttons, resizing to fit. Add the side Rope bits, and finally the blank square button for you to add your name to.

Here is mine:

Now add the copyright information for the tube/graphic you used, and choose your font and add your name to the Blank button. Lower the opacity on your name to about 60 to give it that faded look and Merge all. Thats it! you can leave it as it is, or carry on for the animation!

For the animation.........copy and paste your tag into Animation Shop.
Open up your Heart Animation, you will see it has 28 Frames. Now I actually changed the color of the white bits in my animation so if you want to do this, click on the animation and Edit --> select all. Then Animation --> replace color. Choose replace, Old color, and make sure the color in the box is white. Then with, new color, and change the color in the box to the color you want then press ok.

Now go back to your tag and duplicate it until you also have 28 Frames. If you go over, just delete a few frames to take you back to 28.
Go back to the animation, Edit --> select all, Edit --> copy. Click on the tag, Edit --> select all, Edit --> paste into selected frame. Put the animation where you want it and click. If you want to add more than one, like I have, just repeat this procedure. When you're happy, save your tag as a Gif.

There you go, You've finished!! Hope you enjoyed this tutorial :o)
